IDOLS SA host Proverb and Onalerona Moreo were once among the it couples of Egoliwood’s social circles.
This was before Sunday Sun reported in 2015 that the hip hop heavyweight and businessman’s ex-wife cheated! They had been together for a decade before Proverb (real name Tebogo Thekisho) pulled the plug on their union after learning about her infidelity in the People’s Paper.
Months after newspapers broke the story, Onalerona had taken to Instagram where she wrote: Divorce feels like death. A loss that only God can restore. Following this social media post, she allegedly told a local gossip online publication: “When the story broke, I was devastated. I knew I was about to lose everything and my life would change. I’d face judgment not only from my families but the entire South Africa.”
But the rumour mill has been grinding up a storm lately. And it seems Onalerona, who once broke Proverb’s heart, is getting married again. But this time, she’s not only going down the isle with businessman James Mohlaba, she’s also pregnant, insiders claim. They are allegedly set to tie the knot on Saturday.
According to insiders, James got divorced late last year. An informant said he met Onalerona earlier this year at Anglican Church in Parktown, Jozi, where her father, Bishop Steven Moreo, is allegedly a senior church leader.
Said the informant: “Onalerona met James at church and they started talking – to a point where they ended up going out. James, who had just divorced his wife, spoke to Onalerona and learned she was also a divorcee. They started dating and James proposed to her.”
Another insider claimed James’ family went to the bishop’s house in Westcliff, north of Jozi, on 1 September.
Claimed the mole: “James’ family came to Westcliff to pay ilobolo for Onalerona. The wedding plans got underway after that. She’s excited that she’ll be getting married again. Hopefully, this time round, she won’t mess up her marriage like she did with her’s to Proverb.”
The third mole claimed both families requested that the matter be kept hush-hush from the media and Proverb.
When contacted this week, Onalerona said: “What wedding? I’m not getting married and don’t know the person you’re saying is getting married to me,” before hanging up the phone.
On the other hand, James said: “Call me later, after hours. I’m in a meeting.”
Proverb said he can’t comment on the issue. “The only thing I can say is that I wish her all the best,” he said.
