TELEVISION and radio host, Zizo Beda’s three-year marriage to her husband Mayihlome Tshwete is said to be going through a tough time. Just weeks ago, Move! had the pleasure of speaking to Zizo about being a wife and mother.
Zizo Beda, a South African model and television presenter best known for hosting the SABC1 music show Selimathunzi between 2011 and 2015.
Zizo and Mayihlome, who have a three-year-old son together, have always managed to keep their affairs somewhat private. It even took a while for people to find out that they were dating, pregnant and getting married.
Back then, in 2015 when Zizo opened up about the man of her dreams to a magazine, she had this to say about him, “All I can say is that it’s great to find someone who is not intimidated by my drive, but rather extremely supportive of what I do. There are a lot of things I adore about Mayihlome. He makes me want to be a better person in everything I do.”
She recently revealed to Move! the secret to their marriage.
“You have to love and support each other through anything that life throws at you,” Zizo said.
BALANCING FAMILY AND WORK
It is not yet clear how news of them living apart got to be public knowledge because this is a couple whose personal lives is not easily accessible.
“I am grateful for a great support system that allows me to do all that I need to do as a working mama and wife,” the 29-year-old former pageant queen told Move!. She added that she is selective about how she allocates her time because family is everything to her. “I am grateful that I am able to enjoy time with my family as well as pursue my career goals.”
CHANGES IN HER LIFE
During her pregnancy in 2015, Zizo gained a lot of weight which she says took a lot of effort to shed off. She recently posted on Instagram, pictures of herself in the last three years, this showing where she has been and she is now.
“Getting to where you want to get to physically takes sheer discipline and hard work! We need to start speaking more about who we are as people rather than what we look like. My positive traits as a person haven’t changed regardless of whatever size or weight I was at any particular time,” she says.
When asked if it is true that they are living apart, Mayihlome responded, “My personal life is none of your business.”
Zizo didn’t respond to our calls and messages.
