Actress Enhle Mbali has been hospitalised after being hijacked by three armed men on Wednesday afternoon in Hyde Park, Johannesburg.

Enhle was driving the new Porsche which her husband DJ Black Coffee had recently purchased for her when she was attacked.

Three armed men, two with guns and one with a hammer, stopped in front of her car, pulled her out and took her jewellery.

Enhle was rushed to hospital shortly after the incident.

"It was very traumatic. She was hyperventilating and her body froze during the incident. She's in a lot of shock and is still in hospital," said her friend Jarred Doyle who was with her at the scene.

It's understood the incident happened just after 4pm.

Enhle Mbali Maphumulo (formerly known as Mbali Mlotshwa) is an actress best known for her starring roles in the television series Tshisa and Rockville.

Shea made her acting debut in Moja Movie Factory’s Mtunzini.com in 2005 and took her first lead role in Tshisa.

In her Mtunzini role she played a beauty pageant contestant which is close to her real life experience. Mbali was crowned Miss Safa in 2005 and started her pageant career as runner-up Miss Tinkerbell when she was six years old.

Mbali's appeared in school plays and also dances and ice skates.

Other television series she has acted in include the e.tv drama series 4Play: Sex Tips for Girls, the Mzansi Magic telenovela iNkaba, the SABC1 AIDS drama series Soul City and the SABC3 comedy series Those Who Can't.

She had a guest role on the e.tv soapie Scandal! as Azania, which later became a crossover starring role in the e.tv telenovela Broken Vows.
