Somizi Mhlongo has poured cold water on claims that he wanted sexual favours in order to be part of a celebrity line-up at an event.
This after a promoter named Ali Boy released a statement in the form of a video, alleging that what started as a business-related conversation between him and Somizi turned into a nightmare when he wanted sex.
In the video that has since gone viral, Ali also shared a voice note in which Somizi can be heard saying they can have sex.
In a lengthy video posted on Instagram, Somizi denied the claims. In turn, he also released his own receipts and posted screenshots of WhatsApp messages in which the promoter is making sexual advances.
“I hate this. Why do people always want to take advantage of others by blackmailing or manipulating them?” he asked.
Explaining his side of the story, Somizi said he had known Ali for more than two years, and they had always been flirtatious.
“Everything became flirtatious. I want him; he wants me”, he shared.
He added that the reason he was now being painted as a bad person was because the promoter had posted an event poster with Somizi on it, without consulting him. It was of him being a judge at a modelling competition.
“I told him you can’t do that without my permission. Then he said he would pay me. I told him that my management was angry at me. Six months down the line, I see the poster again. I told him to remove the picture or pay me, and gave him until Monday.
“I did not want to do the gig for a sexual favour, not at all. I did not want to be a part of it because Ali scams people and is fraudulent. My image on the poster was fraudulent,” he said.
