ON MZANSI’S biggest soapie, Generations: The Legacy, they play Zitha and Tau – a couple besotted with each other, so much so that they are engaged to be married.
But off screen, actress Zoe Mthiyane (37) and actor Rapulana Seiphemo (51) are rumoured to be just as in love.
According to sources close to the situation, in real life the two are in inseparable. The pair is said to have been seeing each other for a while now.
Said one source: “They met on the Generations: The Legacy set and have been dating since last year, and although they’ve been trying to hide it from the public, they’ve decided not to hide it any more. Tau is divorced and Zitha is single. So, there’s no reason they shouldn’t be together because there’s nothing stopping them.”
Another source said the pair even attend certain events together.
“Recently, they attended the SABC radio reveal together. Attendees were surprised to see them together, but they couldn’t be bothered as they seemed happy in each other’s company. Their affection for each other was on full display,” said the second insider.
Zitha, who has children with media personality Robert Marawa and Lion King boss Lebo M, is said to be hoping that she has finally found love after her failed engagement with Lebo M.
“She’s really hoping this will last because of her previous experiences. She’s in love with him. He makes her happy, which is why she’s not shy to post him on her social media pages. Hopefully, this will last so she doesn’t have to start another relationship again,” the third source said.
Generations: The Legacy publicity manager Gaaratwe Mokhethi refused to comment, saying she didn’t comment on the “talents’ personal lives”.
When called, Rapulana refused to comment and hung up the phone. Efforts to contact him again were unsuccessful, as he ignored our calls.
Zoe was not available for comment and failed to respond to our SMSes and WhatsApp messages.
