Actor Fezile Mpela’s jewellery worth R252 000 were stolen from his home during a recent family gathering.
Fezile Mpela, a South African actor and television presenter best known for his leading roles as Vusi in the first season of the SABC1 drama series Mzansi, and as Sello in the SABC2 soapie 7de Laan, was left shocked after he realised his safe had been cleaned out after everyone had left his home.
A police officer apparently told the tabloid that Fezile opened a case of theft which is being investigated.
Apparently the actor’s most prized possessions, including a Tag watch and a Kruger coin, were stolen during the incident.
“He said he was surprised to see his safe opened the following day, with items like his Kruger coin, Tag Heuer watch, platinum wedding ring and digital records worth R252 500 were stolen,” the officer told the paper.
Fezile has apparently remained silent on the incident.
Late last year it was also reported that the actor and TV presenter’s marriage was on the rocks.
Sunday Sun claimed that after three years of marriage, Fezile and his wife, Marilyn were on the brink of calling it quits.
“Their relationship has broken down irretrievably, and has reached such a state of disintegration that there’s no reasonable prospect of getting it back to the good old days,” a source said at the time.
