It never rains, but it pours for Black Entertainment Television award-winning musician Sjava.
He was axed from Mzansi's top drama series Uzalo after the SABC allegedly told its executive producers that they'd made a blunder in casting the muso, who's currently facing a charge of sexual abuse.
Two well-placed sources who spoke to City Press this week said that Sjava (whose real name is Jabulani Hadebe) was removed from the SABC1 production by the channel amid a rape charge opened by his ex-girlfriend, songbird Yamikani 'Lady Zamar'
Sjava's extremely talented, but these rape charges have cost him his career. We understand that he told the production he isn't guilty. Unfortunately, he needs to prove his innocence. Otherwise, he won't work any more with a rape case hanging over him," said an SABC insider.
Recently, Uzalo's executive producer, Mmamiste Thibedi, was quoted saying:" Sjava's perfect for this role because he's a great performer and his musical persona is aligned with this creator part. He's unapologetic about his culture and the raw energy he possesses is exactly what the role requires.
In November, Lady Zamar laid rape charges against him at a police station in Limpopo.
The 33-year-old House star has since gone public about her ordeal, saying she hasn't been herself since the alleged incident.
However, the Umama hitmaker has since denied the allegations.

An SABC insider Approached for comment, SABC's acting spokesperson Mmoni Seapolelo was vague in her response. All she said was: "Sjava was on a limited storyline that will conclude naturally."
The 35-year-old musician failed to respond to calls, texts and WhatsApp messages
When approached for comment, Sjava said: "Whatever you are going through in life, it will pass. The one who comes last, shines."
In a police statement, Lady Zamar had detailed the alleged incident, which took place in 2017 when she and Sjava were still in a relationship.
In her affidavit, she claimed that Sjava sexually violated her at the Porche-Villa Hotel and Conference Centre in Thohoyandou, after they'd both performed at the Royal Heritage Festival in Venda.
