Former Uzalo actress Nokuthula “Nocxy” Mabika has spoken out on an accident which left a 18-year-old Sanele Maphalala permanently paralyzed and mentally disturbed.
Nokuthula “Nocxy” Mabika, who played Thobile in the SABC1 series, said she had lived in constant fear as there were people who threatened to harm her since the accident on August 24 last year.
In an exclusive interview with Isolezwe on Sunday she said she had come to realize that peace would not help her since her name was being dragged down by false reports about what happened on the day.
“There has been a lot of misinformation about me but I kept quiet because I wanted peace. This has allowed people to say whatever they like without feeling or hearing my opinion, ”laments Nocxy.
Among the reports she said was false was that she had been drinking at the time of the accident.
“When the accident happened, I was going out to Pinetown to collect the car for service to King Shaka Airport. The road I was traveling on was open and it was about 6 at night. I don't know how BMW could have given me a car if I had been drunk as it was reported, ” she said.
Nokuthula revealed that she found out the boy was on drugs from his friends however she kept quiet about that information especially from his family. .
She said the R150 that people spoke about she gave it to a friend of the boy who was injured when they were at the clinic and was meant for transport, not to compensate.
"I think investigators have finally found that I was not hiding anything concerning what happened that day, rather it was the boy's family that was tarnishing my name and lying about what happened," he said.
She also denied reports that she was traveling with her colleague, Nelisa Mchunu, who plays Fikilein the show, and Simphiwe Majozi who plays Sbu.
"Some of the nonsense is because Nelisa and Simphiwe actually found me at the Poly Clinic after I had taken the injured boy," Nocxy said.
