She recently opened up that she was a lesbian, not only that, Lebo told the nation through her social media handle that she has always been 'hasing' the Chasing Waves singer, Letoya, hoping to pounce on her one day and express her feelings towards her.
As fate may have it, there was to be a point where the two could meet, so it happened that Letoya had to perform at a birthday celebration in honour of Lebo’s 99-year-old mother in February.
That turned out to be the very moment that Lebo had been praying for all along. She did not waste time, but quickly took the opportunity to open her heart out for her and told Letoya how she felt about her. For fear of being judged, the two sweethearts kept their romatntic affair a secret.
“…. We live in a very homophobic world where being your sexual preference still makes negative news,” Lebo told a local paper. As she had predicted, some of her fans told her point blank that homosexuality is 'unAfrican' and bad.
Others felt for her and congratulated her for finally finding love following her last relationship with now her ex-husband Priviledge Mangezi. “Forget about the hypocrites and PC warriors who celebrate through pain,” one Twitter user told the actress.
A number of other artists chipped in support of her newly found love. Former talk show host Felicia Mabuza-Suttle was one of those who jumped in first and congratulated Letoya on her new romance.
“@latoyamakhene, Wishing you & @LebohangKwesa happiness. Thanks for always coming on to #FeliciaShow with your dad @blondiemakhene. I use to share with you how I use to sing with your mom #Phyllis & aunt #Pam at school. Wish we still had show & could talk & continue to enlighten,” she tweeted.
Others just used signs presenting the same language of love and support for her. Media personality Kuli Roberts ran short of words and just left heart emojis on an Instagram post Letoya shared about her relationship.
The LGBTQ community is also celebrating Letoya and Lebo’s romance.
“Congratulations to @letoyamakhene and @LebohangKeswa on their beautiful new journey. The queer community celebrates this day with you, may love continue to win in this world. RainbowFolded hands #LoveWins #QueerLove2,” one Twitter user wrote.
Pushed by the love, Lebo has alredy met Letoya’s father. The businesswoman posted a photograph of the couple with Blondie on Twitter in March. Since coming out, Letoya and Lebo have been open regarding their love for each other on social media.
“I’m in a peaceful place. Being with you really makes me feel peaceful and content. I really don’t want to hear what people have to say. The only thing that matters to me right now is YOU… it’s US… I LOVE YOU TOYA,” Lebo wrote.

The two are enjoying each moment of their love. Letoya replied to Lebo's post: “Peace. Be still. That was the message that came to us last night, babe. I love you too. So much more than the world will ever comprehend.”
