All good things come to an end, as for the SABC 3's Isidingo's lovers, the entertainment sector is never going to be the same again following the soapie's announcement that it is coming to an end.
The news of its switching off from the airwaves was made last year. Meanwhile, this is the final week it will be appearing on TV and actress Katlego Danke has written a farewell letter.
Katlego who stars in the soapie as Kgothalo thanked the show for making her who she is today, she said she has matured as a person, an artist and a colleague, giving all the credit to the soapie.
"I’ve grown as a person, as an artist and as a colleague. And for all of those lessons I’m truly grateful.
"This legendary show has come to an end but I strongly believe it will forever live in all of our hearts and souls for a very long time," read part of her post.
She expressed gratitude to all those who made the show a reality and went on to explain that the partying was not an easy pill to take, saying that they had a tearful and emotional goodbye.
Katlego wrote: "A tearful farewell but it’s a job well done by an incredible team of people so we smile through the tears. Join us for the last episodes this week… It’s a wrap!"
In 2019, SABC made public its decision to cancel Isidingo. Reports suggested that the decision attributed to the show’s poor ratings (a common problem for SABC 3’s content at this moment in time).
The news came as a surprise for most of its members who revealed that they weren’t even informed of the decision to cancel the show; instead, it was alleged they were each left to learn of the latest developments via social media.
Despite this, the talented actors have shown great professionalism by showing up to work until their final day.
Viewers are expected to have tissue paper at hand as they read the following emotional messages in each of the actors’ dedications. Take a look:
Actress Schelaine Bennet said on Instagram, “Proof that God’s timing is PERFECT!

What a journey it’s been on this amazing show. I’ve grown as a person, as an artist and as a colleague. And for all of those lessons I’m truly grateful. This legendary show has come to an end but I strongly believe it will forever live in all of our hearts and souls for a very long time. It’s been over 20years of captivating stories that we have had access to in our homes, so it’s special to every South African. We will miss those very South African nuances the show brought and the up to date trending info that almost seemed to be on screen in real time. But most of all the characters we have all come to love and know. A tearful farewell but it’s a job well done by an incredible team of people so we smile through the tears. Join us for the last episodes this week…It’s a wrap! #LastEpisodes #IsidingoFinale #Kgothalo #isidingo #KatlegoDanke
