Even though rapper Chad da Don and his former girlfriend, Kelly Khumalo, haven't spilt the tea on their break-up, Chad has said he won't lose sleep over people's opinions of it.
Chad and Kelly were once crazy in love, in what looked like a fairy-tale story. The couple were reportedly engaged and even got matching tattoos on their ring fingers.
However, Chad and Kelly left fans shook when they deleted pictures of each other from their social media accounts, with neither of them confirming their break-up.
Though Chad has moved on and seems smitten by his new girlfriend, a fan reached out on Instagram, telling him what mattered was that he was happy.
“I've been seeing everybody giving stick about your last relationship boy, and I'm happy you are happy and that's what counts the most!”
Appreciative of the love and support, Chad thanked the fan and said lions didn't lose sleep over the opinions of sheep.
Chad da Don has moved on from ex-wife Kelly Khumalo and has been showing off his model girlfriend Carlla Poggenpoel to his 100 000 followers.
Speaking to Channel24 two months ago, Chad’s management team confirmed the blossoming romance.
In a series of new Instagram posts, the rapper shared several photos of himself snuggled up close to his new girlfriend, captioned with heart emojis.
Earlier last year Chad Da Don and Kelly Khumalo spiced up the entertainment industry with their relationship.
The relationship made headlines after sharing their relationship publicly and even went as far as claiming that they were engaged.
Many joked that Chad was in “danger” (more repetition of the rumoured ‘Kelly Khumalo Curse’) while others were eager to see evidence. One thing that was certain, however, is the fact that most people on social media seem to finally believe that Kelly and Chad are definitely an item.
It did not last though with the relationship coming to an abrupt end with no explanation from either one of the two artists. Now it seems Chad da Dom has finally listened to ‘advice’ that he got from his fans who advised him on Twitter and other social media to dump Kelly if ever he still wants to live.
Kelly Khumalo’s former boyfriends have had a fair share of bad luck and a sangoma once said Kelly is cursed, anyone who dares have sex with her will die.
Singer Molemo ‘Jub Jub’ Maarohanye (38), who is the father of her first child, went to jail for culpable homicide after being involved in a drag race accident that claimed the lives of four school children in Soweto.
Then her married soccer star boyfriend, Senzo Meyiwa, was killed at the house of Kelly’s mom in Vosloorus after an alleged robbery that went wrong. But the star has put all that behind her and says she is ready for love.
Another Kelly Khumalo’s ex boyfriend, businessman and music promoter Prosper Mkwaiwa, died in February 2015. Prosper was on his way to seek medical treatment after complaining of having a fever when he passed away. Prosper Mkwaiwa, who was originally from Zimbabwe, was first introduced to the masses when he married actress Tina Jaxa in 2000 in an extravagant wedding. The couple soon became tabloid fodder with their many fights and their habit of airing their dirty laundry in public.
They went their separate ways after two children, child support drama and a protracted divorce. Mkwaiwa then “poached” singer Kelly “The Virgin” Khumalo from her management and became her new manager, business partner in ProKelly Entertainment and later fiancé. That relationship also bit the dust in a public and messy way.
There are also reports that Prosper life started courting mysterious misfortunes after he allegedly broke Kelly Khumalo’s virginity in 2007. Back then, Prosper, who was meant to get married to Kelly, told the media that he had had sex with Kelly.
“Yes, we have done it,” said a bold and proud Prosper, but he would not be drawn into the details of when or where.
In January 2015, a sangoma revealed that Kelly Khumalo’s boyfriends will continue experiencing mysterious misfortunes until Kelly agrees to become a spirit medium as per her ancestral spirits demands.
