Lady Zamar and Sjava only confirmed their relationship after the duo broke up and while fans have been hoping for some kind of reunion, Lady Zamar shut these down quickly in an explosive thread on Twitter where she claims the singer sexually and emotionally abused her. While Lady Zamar never mentions Sjava in her posts, she heavily implies that her relationship with Sjava was a tremendously difficult one for her.
Over the weekend, Sjava held his ‘One Night With Sjava’ concert and introduced his wife to fans. Many didn’t know the star was married so, naturally, they were shocked when Sjava made the announcement with many believing that Sjava could have been married to the woman while he was dating Lady Zamar or that he cheated on the singer during their relationship.
Either way, South Africans were shocked by the claim and took to Twitter for answers with many directing their questions at Lady Zamar – prompting Lady Zamar to speak up. The ‘Love Is Blind’ songstress says that her abuser often cheated and lied to her but that she bottled up her feelings for a very long time until she could finally process the impact the failed relationship had on her life.
“I was abused (verbally and once sexually) and used.. I was lied to and cheated on. Did I know.. No. Did people tell me who knew?.. yes some.. got inboxes and calls. Did I ask? Yes. Did people I knew know what kind of man he is? Yes. Did they protect him? His friends? Yes,” Lady Zamar started. “I’ve been saying… Your precious Zulu man is a liar and a cheater.. Cheers to every person that didn’t believe me when I told them that that n***** married.. coz in your face.. mxm y’all are exhausting.. now y’all wanna drag me coz I didn’t know?”
Even though Lady Zamar didn’t mention Sjava’s name, fans joined the dots.
“So did you ask him about his wife? Nigga swears up and down he is not married… So any more questions? I’ll answer. I wish this was for attention, I wish it was for float. I wish it was for anything but the truth… I’m just tired yo,” read one of her tweets.
Lady Zamar said that she just wanted the media attention and speculation to end.
“Some people won’t believe me… I already know it’s life and I’m not asking fro anyone to believe me… I just want it to end… the articles, the speculation, the dragging me into stories that don’t concern me. You guys can criticise me for all these other things.”
Naturally, Lady Zamar got a massive reactions from fans on social media – both good and bad – and believes now is the perfect time for her to share her story adding she just wants to move on. “Y’all can say I dress bad or tease my acne and all that, but I am a woman, I’m afraid of telling my story coz of people and what they’ll say or won’t say.. of the kitchen conversations about what I’m saying now .. But what kind of artist would I be if I didn’t tell the truth?,” she says. “I’ve moved on long ago and yerrr I’m still dragged into that messy man’s life. What must I do to get you guys to stop with the tags and mentions? … If I was a normal girl who no one knew I’d be left alone but coz I’m in the public? You won’t let me forget him”.
As the news broke, Twitter uses had the hashtag #MenAreTrash trending again, with reponses and opinions on the trends varying.
Can someone balance me here, is there any other form of sexual abuse other than rape? When Lady Zamar says Sjava sexually abused her, does than mean Sjava raped her🤔#menaretrash pic.twitter.com/A6EeabSsSc

Judging by the comments here, there’s NO end in sight for femicide and abuse. Some have resorted to tribalism instead of dealing with the real problems. I have concluded that patriarchy is infact perpetuated by those who claim to be against.#menaretrash #Zulu #LadyZamar #Sjava
