Former Uzalo actress Nokuthula Mabika is in trouble.
Nokuthula is currently facing charges of careless, and negligent driving after she allegedly knocked down a teenager in August this year in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
The State's case allege that while driving her blue BMW with her friend, and fellow actress Nelisa Mchunu in the passenger seat, Nokuthula knocked down a Grade 11 pupil.
The teenager sustained serious injuries and Nokuthula is reported to have swiftly drove him to the clinic for treatment.
The pupil’s mother, Sibongile Maphalala told Sunday Sun, during an interview that she wants Nokuthula, affectionately known as Nocxy to face the full wrath of the law.
"I was next to his bed. He couldn't recognise me. It's so painful to see my son like this. I want Nokuthula to pay for what she did. I want the law to deal with her. Maybe I'll find peace,” she said.
South African Police Service, provincial spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane confirmed to the magazine that a case of reckless and negligent driving was opened at KwaMashu police station for investigation after the victim was allegedly knocked by a vehicle on 23 August 2019 at 18:00 along M5 highway.
“The docket was sent to the senior public prosecutor for decision,” he said.
The publication unsuccessfully tried to get hold of the actress for a comment.
Some time in 2017, Nokuthula posted her new ride on Instagram.
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams, anything is possible if you have faith #grateful,” she captioned the picture.
