Masechaba Ndlovu has claimed that the South African Minister of Police, Bheki Cele has offered protection for Babes Wodumo.
This as many have expressed concern about the safety of the Gqom queen after Masechaba and The Drive team on Metro FM’s exposé.
“I’ve just received an update from Babes Management that Min.Bheki Cele has offered her protection. We are truly thankful. #NotInMyName,” she tweeted.
No official word as yet from the office of the minister, but have fans are expressing their gratitude for the alleged gesture.
The tweet has since sparked a mini debate on Twitter.
Users have been debating whether or not such great lengths would have been sought had Babes now been a famous woman.
Some people have gone as far as to say that if what Masechaba has said is true, than every other abused woman in the country should be offered the same level of protection so that she too may have the courage to speak out.
Of course, the opposite side of the debate as argued that it would be impossible to individually protect each woman in Mzansi, but we should rather strive to deal with the root of the problem.
