DJ Fresh who has been one among South Africa's prominent personalities black listed for offenses as part of the #AmINext campaign, has denied sexual charges leveled against him.
Meanwhile, there has been widespread outcry over assaults on women many of them came out speak on their abusive experiences.
The radio host recently issued a statement in which he rubbished the claims.
“The current allegations are false and without base. They have been made and published, recklessly.
“The fight against Gender based Violence is one of the biggest battles in our country and it saddens me that the focus is being shifted from real issues and perpetrators,” read part of the statement.
Fresh went on to say that he has always used his position and influence to promote co-existence across the gender divide.
“I have supported initiative in this area, motivated by the wish for a safe country for women and children, and the public at large. I am, and will, remain committed to this cause.”
Fresh said he is now going the legal route against an ex-girlfriend who had used her Twitter account to level allegations against him. However, he did not say who the girl is.
The unnamed woman accused DJ Fresh of having inappropriate relationships with young girls.
“As for the statement made by someone I had a relationship with over 18 years ago, they are without merit and denied.
I stopped drinking this drink because of pictures I found in his computer of an under aged girl wt the bottle in here private parts which he took wt his camera. “I have, in the past, chosen to ignore this person, but due to the implications of the most recent statements, the matter has been referred to my attorneys to handle and I am not in a position to comment at this time,” he said in the statement.
