Sharing a profession does not necessarily make two people friends, nor does it make them enemies, that is the case with Nonhlanhla “Skolopad” Qwabe and Zodwa Wabantu.
They both climbed the ladder of fame two years ago when they wore revealing dresses on two separate VIP events.
Skolopad earned herself the name “the lady in the yellow dress” after she was spotted putting on racy outfit to the Metro FM awards.
Zodwa claimed her share of popularity few months later when she turned up to the Durban July in a black dress that was also romantic.
The two little known women became instant stars, with many putting them on the scale of comparisons pushing them into some sort of a tag of war.
“The beef is about to go from mince-meat to a new level. Zodwa has made it clear that she has a problem with me, when I didn’t have a problem with her.
“The only difference between her and me is that she has (DJ) Tira. She is like a trailer, always following Tira, while I am a car doing it without anyone’s support,” Skolopad told TshisaLIVE sometime late in 2017.
However, it seems they have now decided to focus their energies on their careers, with both Skolopad and Zodwa not wanting to pick unnecessary fights.
Skolopad spoke about the relationship between them which was not that good during her recent appearance on THD 24’s parody reality show, The Sharayray Show.
She said that they have now found common ground.
Skolopad claimed that she was the first to make a mark in the show biz industry.
“I first appeared at the Metro FM awards in February and she later appeared after me at Durban July. People
think that me and her are the same because I wore a yellow dress and she wore a black dress,” TshisaLIVE
quoted her as saying on the show.

Both women are now big in their own right, in as far as the South African entertainment sector is concerned, and it seems they have indeed seen the light that fighting is as good as misdirecting efforts.
