A video showing the ‘Wololo’ hitmaker being assaulted has shaken the country as people call for her boyfriend’s arrest.
Economic Freedom Fighters national spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi said Mampintsha’s arrest was necessary because if nothing was done to help Babes Wodumo, the next step would be murder.
He said: “As a country, we are now all witnesses of the abuse of Babes Wodumo by Mampinthsa. The call to arrest Mampinthsa is significant because we are refusing to be complacent with [the] unforgivable crime of women abuse. For if nothing is done, the next step is murder. #ArrestMampinthsa.”

Following the video, fans had been worried about her safety, calling for those close to her to check up on her. Her friend and actor Natasha Thahane responded to the call and told social media users Babes Wodumo was “safe”.
She said: “It’s most likely not my place to update you guys but I know a lot of you are truly worried. Managed to get hold of Babes. She’s safe. Please keep her in your prayers.”

Mampintsha needs to be stopped. I hope they make an example out of him so every man knows that hitting a woman is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. My heart breaks for Babes. 💔

What #BabesWodumo has done is a blatant cry for help. As a country we have been through a horrific week, we’ve lost #Thoriso and #Sbu to violence. Here is someone that is still alive and needs intervention of @SAPoliceService IMMEDIATELY before we lose her too. Do something now!

Sis, @BABESWODUMO, whatever decisions you make today, do not make them out of fear. We stand with you. Ignore those who say it’s your fault & why didn’t you leave that time, today is today. @MampintshaNuz laying a hand on you is a crime. Stand sisi, we are standing with you. 💛
