Minnie Dlamini has managed to remain one of South Africa’s favourite it girls for almost a decade now. The bubbly personality has had a long journey to where she is now.
Minenhle Jones , born Minenhle Dlamini, was born on the 7th of July 1990 in Durban. Her mom gave her what would become her stage name when she was a child, now we all call her Minnie. She completed her basic education at the prestigious Northlands Girls' High School. She then went on to attend the University of Cape Town where she studied film, media, drama and economics.
The country got to know Minnie when she entered the SABC 1 Presenter search back in 2010. The Talent Search was a competition looking for new presenters for the then hit weekly music show, LIVE. She won the gig in June 2010 and replaced Phila Mazibuko. At the time of winning the search she was living in Cape Town and still studying film.
In 2011, she went on to co-host Mzansi Insider. She replaced former presenters Hlelo and Ntando Masina when they were dropped from the show. Minnie later resigned from the series in 2012 to pursue her acting career.
In 2011, she joined the cast of the M-Net soapie “The Wild”. Fans loved her and the character so much that she remained on the show until its end in 2013. Minnie then went on to the cast of the Mzansi Magic drama series Rockville for a season.
In 2013, Minnie made the switch to sports broadcasting by co-hosting sports commentary show “Soccerzone” with Thomas Mlambo until in 2016.
In 2014, Minnie founded the Minnie Dlamini Foundation. Her charity was established with the aim of helping young South African girls have access to good education. In 2015, she announced that her foundation will be sponsoring 29 students with their university fees.
Minnie has also had the honour of co-hosting several local and international award ceremonies including the 14th Metro FM Music Awards, the 2016 & 2018 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, the PSL Awards and the South African Film and Television Awards.

In 2011, Minnie announced her collaboration with retail chain store LEGiT. The collection was dubbed “The Mini-Series” and was available in hundreds of stores nation wide.
In 2017, top South African couture fashion designer, Gert-Johan Coetzee, announced that Minnie is his latest celebrity muse. This follows past muses like Bonang Matheba.
Minnie’s Ex Boyfriend
In 2012, Minnie began her relationship with Itumeleng Khune – one of the most famous soccer players in South Africa. The couples on-again and off-again relationship sequence complete with cheating sagas attracted a lot of media coverage, especially in 2013.
In 2017, she got married to Quinton Jones. Minnie posted a photo of her wearing an engagement ring on her Instagram wearing with a caption saying “I said yes” in December 2016. Her engagement was then later confirmed by her publicist, Jarred Doyle.
Fans got to watch the nuptials thanks to her R6 million deal with Multichoice. “Minnie Dlamini: Becoming Mrs Jones” was a three-part reality show which documents her pre-wedding and post-wedding journey.
