ACTRESS and TV presenter, Pearl Thusi, shared some pearls of wisdom for ladies who plan on having kids. The outspoken star didn’t mince her words telling ladies to stop engaging in sex with broke men who will most likely leave them with a child.
BROKE MEN BLAME THE BABYMAMA
Pearl’s words of advice come after media personality, Ntando Duma and ex-boyfriend, rapper Junior Da Rock’s war of words over the maintenance of their child. Pearl posted a series of tweets, which have now been deleted, that men with money take full financial responsibility for their children and those who can’t, give excuses and blame the mother.
“Men with lots of money – who aren’t financially abusive – don’t complain,” she tweeted.
PEARL WARNS LADIES
The mother-of-one went on to warn women against deadbeat dads, saying they ought to take note of the signs if their man is likely to leave them.
“Ladies, stop having unprotected sex with men who can’t afford what you believe your children will need – if you expect them to pay for it. The signs are there. Pay attention,” she cautioned.
These comments caused a divide in opinion among her fans, but the star stood by her comments. Pearl was in a relationship with sports presenter, Walter Mokoena and they have since gone their separate ways. They are currently coparenting their daughter, Thandolwethu.
OPENING UP ABOUT HER PREGNANCY
Previously in a television interview, Pearl opened up about her pregnancy and relationship with Walter. “My pregnancy wasn’t great because Walter and I were on and off,” she told TV and radio personality Anele Mdoda during an interview. “Our relationship was not good the whole time; there were a lot of tears and pain during my pregnancy. All I wanted to do was love him, serve him and take care of this child while I was still trying to finish my first year in varsity. It was hard. I had to pick between my pregnancy and my first year. I thought since I can always repeat my first year and will never fall pregnant ‘the first time’ again. I chose pregnancy.”
Pearl had not responded to questions Move! sent to her at the time of going to print.
