Those close to gospel star Lundi Tyamara as well as fans across the country have been fuming over fake ‘death’ reports which emerged on Friday

A report by what seems to be a fake website claimed that the singer had died on Friday. The article surfaced just days after it emerged that Lundi had reportedly spent over a month in hospital.

As the report began circulating on social media fans expressed shock over the gospel star’s “death,” and inundated Twitter with condolence messages.

However, according to TshisaLIVE, Lundi’s manager rubbished the claims.

“He is not dead. He is still in hospital, I went to see him this morning and will go back again at 3pm," Anele Hlazo said.

In the middle of the frenzy on Friday, EFF leader Julius Malema also took to Twitter to rubbish the reports, saying that he had just spoken to the star

“Just spoke to our undisputed gospel star Lundi and he’s recovering from his hospital bed. I’m happy he’s responding very well and will be out soon,” Julius tweeted.

According to numerous reports, Lundi fell ill at the beginning of December and was in and out of hospital, being treated for abdominal tuberculosis, chest pains and liver complications.
