THEY hid it so well. No one who knew the trendily dressed couple of Sfiso Ncwane and his beautiful wife Ayanda guessed they were going through the biggest challenge of their nine-year marriage.
The image Sfiso had worked so hard to cultivate – that of a respectable gospel singer, loving husband and doting father to sons Ngcweti (13) and Umawenzokuhle (8) – was crumbling.
The wheels began to come off in 2010 when two Durban women came forward to allege that Sfiso (37) had fathered their children, a then 12-year-old girl and a then seven-year-old boy.
These two children are now 18-years-old and 13 years old respectively.
The women also claimed that the Bayede Baba singer had refused to acknowledge the children as his or to pay maintenance. Later in the same year it also emerged that Sfiso has another child, who is now 16-year-old, a girl he has been taking care of but has never spoken about.
So, who are these children and who are their mothers?
Back in 1997, when Sfiso was only 18 years old, still a teenager and not knowing that one day he would be extremely rich and famous, he fell in love with his High School girlfriend, Nelisiwe Mzelemu, who was also born in 1979, the same year Sfiso was born.
In the same year, 1997, Sfiso and Nelisiwe had unprotected sex until Nelisiwe fell pregnant. Sfiso, who had also been rejected by his own father, David Wewe Zikhali back in 1979 while he was still in his mother's womb, did the same mistake and rejected Nelisiwe's pregnancy despite knowing fully well that he had unprotected sex with her. Not only that, he also dumped her! However, Nelisiwe eventually gave birth to Sfiso's first child, Nqobile Mzelemu who was born in 1998.
Sfiso then moved on with his life and fell in love with another woman, one Nothando Dlamini whom he dated and had unprotected sex with in 1999. The relationship resulted in the birth of Mandisa Mseleku who stays in Amanzimtoti, a coastal town just south of Durban in KwaZulu-Natal province. She was born in 2000.
Then in 2002, Sfiso was dating 2 women, a 30-year-old woman Pinky Dlamini as well as his widow Ayanda, whom he then married in 2007. Again, Sfiso had unprotected sex with Pinky and in 2003 Pinky gave birth to a baby boy named Sduduzo Dlamini who is from a settlement called Mthwalume in Ugu District Municipality in the KwaZulu-Natal province. Pinky revealed that she dated Sfiso in 2002 but the gospel star disappeared into thin air soon after she fell pregnant.
Interestingly, Sfiso impregnated two women in 2002. While the first was Pinky, the second was Ayanda whom he first impregnated in 2002, and in 2003 she gave birth to their first son, Ngcweti Ncwane. In 2007 Sfiso eventually decided to marry Ayanda, then the following year Sfiso and Ayanda had another child, the last born named Umawenzokuhle Ncwane. He is now 8 years old.
